Howden Landcare Group
Our group aims to protect local flora and fauna and promote an awareness of these by sharing information. The group originally formed as the Howden Foreshore Group and was re-named Howden Landcare Group in 2000 to include a patch of bush set aside as public open space now called Wingara Gully, and roadsides. We remove blackberry, Spanish heath, broom, agapanthus and mirror bush amongst other weeds, and maintain tracks and an herbarium. We enjoy living beside some rather specially placed flora and fauna, which includes North West Bay, and hope this privilege will be available for future generations.
