West Tamar Historical Society

This group has an interest in the York Town historic site. They are currently working to rehabilitate native bush and coastal land at the site. Over the years, they've cleared a lot of gorse (it was up to 8 metres high!). Other projects have included seed collection, propagation and planting. The group has built up a database of plants in the area - which includes some threatened species.

We keep weed growth in check with regular working bees, plant native plants, maintain and install signage re native flora. We remove fallen limbs etc to clear pathways for visitors and members safety.

Regular Events:
Regular meetings: 3rd Tuesday of the month, but not every month. Working bees are ad hoc.
