Friends of Mosquito Point

The Friends of Mosquito Point meet on the Huon River at the end of Helen Street in Ranelagh at 10am on the third Sunday of each month.

The group are working to protect and improve riparian habitat composed of critically endangered black gum woodland, improve river access for the local community, and encourage low-impact recreational use.

Work includes brush cutting, hand weeding, rubbish collection, planting, chatting, and morning tea consumption.

Note: Mosquito Point working bees have been a regular monthly activity of the Huon Valley Roamers for about four years. Roamers will not be continuing membership beyond this year (2023), so the Mosquito Point volunteers will continue as a standalone group.
