Renewal Instructions

Annual membership forms and fees ($40) are due on the 31st of January for Individual and Group Memberships.

The Annual Membership Forms help us make sure we have the right contact details for you, and helps us understand what your Landcaring aims are. For member groups, the annual membership forms are an essential part of accessing insurance and grants. For individuals or groups who joined us shortly before the end of the year (after 30th Sept), you do not need to pay again until the 31st of January of the following year, but groups do need to complete the Annual Membership Forms to be eligible for insurance and grants.

Ways to Renew Membership

1. Online - log into your online account, the Members Toolbox

This is the easiest way to complete your membership forms, because the information we have is pre-filled, it saves as you go so you can come back later if you need to, and your details are updated instantly. If you have all the information to hand, it should take around 5-15 minutes depending on your choices.

Important information for Member Groups

Member Groups are community groups, school groups, and property-based groups of volunteers

Online account

The Member Group online account is registered to the email address you've provided as the group's "Primary Contact". One email address = one online account, so only the Primary Contact can log in. If you need to change the email address registered to the group account, you can either send us an email or give us a call on 03 6234 7117

Landcare Assistance Program (LAP) Grant + Insurance

The membership forms include applications for the Landcare Assistance Program (LAP) cash grant, Landcare Bulk Insurance policy, and the LAP cash grant acquittal form for last years' funds, to help you get all your Landcare admin done quickly. Membership forms are due 31 Jan, but we have a generous grace period until 01 March - If you renew after 01 March, your insurance cover (if applicable) will expire, and you will miss out on the LAP cash grant.

LAP cash grant funds are usually paid to eligible applicants in May each year, once we've received the information we need to make a payment.

Current Landcare Bulk Insurance cover expires 31 March 2022. If approved, 2023 Landcare Bulk Insurance certificates will be valid from the 1st of April, and will be emailed to the Primary Contact

Sponsorship & Partner organisations

Many councils are willing to cover the Landcare Tasmania Membership Fee for groups in their area. If your local council has offered to pay for your membership, there will be a message on the payment page advising you not to pay. You do still need to complete the annual membership form to register as a member of Landcare Tasmania.

Many Wildcare Tasmania branches choose to be members of Landcare Tasmania as well. Wildcare groups have the option to pay online and get reimbursed, or you may opt for us to invoice Wildcare directly, to be debited from your branch funds. You do still need to complete the annual membership form to register as a member of Landcare Tasmania.

Information to gather

Individuals:

  • Email, phone, billing address, property address (if different), and (optional) any new projects you need support with

Groups:

  • Primary contact details for Landcare Tasmania to communicate with the group (email, phone, mailing address)
  • Public contact details for the website listing (name, email, phone, and where the group is active (town, municipality, and postcode)
  • Details of regular meet-ups, working bees, or events
  • The number of committee members (leaders), and the total number of regular volunteers
  • An estimate of the volunteer hours put in last year (reporting by financial year is ok)
  • An estimate of the number of events, working bees, and meetings held last year (reporting by financial year is ok)
  • The group's intended activities for the coming year (this is very general - just tickboxes)
  • An understanding of whether you need to be included in the Landcare Bulk Insurance
  • A general idea of what the group spent the LAP cash grant on last year (if you received it) - no receipts needed, just tickboxes for the type of expenditure. If carrying any amount forward, please indicate what you are saving up for.
  • Whether your group will be applying for the LAP cash grant this year, and if yes, a general idea of what you expect to spend it on.

Trouble-shooting

  • If you have trouble logging in after changing your password, please wait a minute and refresh the browser before entering your new password again.
  • If you have a technical problem with submitting the online forms, please note down what device and which internet browser you are using, then call the office on 03 6234 7117, or email [email protected] with any screenshots.
  • Remember one email = one online account. If you are the primary contact for two (or more!) groups you will need separate email addresses for each online member group account. One solution to this problem is creating a new email address for one of your groups. We are offering free email addresses to all groups upon request.  Your new email address could be [email protected]. Please contact the office to request a new email address.

For help please call (03) 6234 7117 or send us an email. If possible, send a screen shot of any error messages so we can sort them out quickly.
