Why bring cover crops into your rotation? The answer is simple - they pay. But why they pay and and making them pay can be complex. This field day is about exposing farmers to different cover crops and ideas about how to include them in their rotation.

This trial uses an innovative checkerboard formation that assesses 12 species on their own and as multi-species blends. Walk the 144 plots and visually asses growth, weed suppression and root structure.

The design makes an otherwise difficult task of assessing different species fairly easy. With talks form farmers experienced in cover cropping and presentation from Dorris Blaesing about scientific perspective of advances and opportunities in cover cropping.
