Meander Landcare Group

Formed in 1991, Meander Landcare is one of Tasmania's longest-running Landcare groups. In the early days the group was involved with major works on the Meander River. The river banks were protected by rock-rip-rap, groynes and riffles. The riparian zone was fenced to exclude cattle and re-vegetated. More recently they have undertaken erosion control, river bank restoration and management of weeds including willow, gorse and ragwort.
