North West Environment Centre Inc.

NWEC aims to inspire a new perspective on our relationship with the environment and each other so that we may all work together to create a better future.

Our goals are to increase awareness in the community about all sustainability issues in the environment of north west Tassie. We have a regular group that produces organic fruit and vegies and this also becomes a place for meetings. We aim to put on a large sustainability event every 2 years (Ecofest). We actively encourage community members to work through our incorporated body to gain funding on all aspects of sustainability.

Regular Events:
Every Wednesday morning 10 – 12 at the Centre at Ironcliffe Rd in Penguin the gardeners are active. In preparation for our annual Ecofest in April the Ecofest committee has regular monthly meetings starting in Sept and then in February fortnightly meetings
