Friends of the Henty - Henty River Track Weeding

Our next working bee is coming up on the 2nd of February! We will be working out on the tracks on the southern bank of the Henty River, mainly pulling out montpellier broom and blackberry seedlings, and cutting and pasting some medium sized gorse plants. Parks have recently completed a few rounds of spraying on the worst gorse patches, but there are still a few straggler plants along the perimeter.

We will meet at the Parks and Wildlife Workshop at 17 Herbert Street, Strahan (it's the big red shed!) at 9am and will travel from there in Parks vehicles as a 4WD is required to get to the work site from Henty Road.

The red line on this map marks the stretch of track we will be working along. We will access the track by vehicle from the South.

Please bring a sunhat, sunscreen, some sturdy shoes, long pants, and some water. Some morning tea and hot drinks will be provided. We will aim to be back in Strahan at 1pm, 2pm at the very latest.

If you are planning on coming along, please make sure you have signed
up as a DPIPWE/NRE volunteer. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
