Raptor Care North West

We rehabilitate injured Birds of Prey from our home in Wynyard. We care for all Raptors ranging from Eagles through to Boobook Owls (nocturnal and diurnal), with varying conditions from fractures to concussions and electrocutions. We take in approximately 3 birds a month.

Our aim is to successfully rehabilitate injured and sick birds to recovery for re-release into the wild. We also aim to educate the public through our social media networks, print media and dialogue with local farmers and property owners.

We take call outs through various sources (DPIPWE, 1800 RAPTOR) around the state, and regularly involve those members of the public who have had the initial contact with the bird, in their progress and release.

We have approximately a 30% success rate of re-releasing injured Raptors.
