Cat Management in Clarence - Community Information Session #1
Update: Date will be changed due conflicts with the upcoming election. New date TBC
Cat Management in Clarence!
Come and learn about the threats domestic, stray and feral cats pose to human health and the environment. Learn about responsible pet ownership and practical actions that can be undertaken by Landcare groups and individuals to monitor and control feral cat populations.
Over the past several years Landcare Tasmania has facilitated 8 well-received information sessions across the state as part of our long-term focus on community awareness about feral and stray cat management. Feedback from these community meetings has been overwhelmingly supportive of local communities and Councils taking on a more active and strategic role in feral and roaming cat management.
Thanks to a grant from the Clarence City Council, and following on from the momentum gained during the 2024 South Arm Cat Management Stakeholder meeting, Landcare Tasmania is running this Community Cat Management Information Session for the residents in the municipality of Clarence City Council, to build the capacity of the community to monitor and manage stray and feral cats practically, humanely and within the law.
Read more about our Impact to Action approach to feral cat management and our new Decision Guide for Stray and Feral Cat Management in Tasmania 2025.
This is part one of two cat information sessions- stay tuned for our second Cat Management ACTION Planning Session in November 2025 for those interested in taking further action to plan for better feral cat management on the South Arm Peninsula.
