Visit the beautiful King Island and participate and contribute to the 2021 Orange-bellied Parrot Blitz concurrently with Wings on King bird surveys.

Orange-bellied Parrot Blitz 22nd April - 2nd May
Search for the nine King Island subspecies including the critically endangered KI Brown Thornbill and migratory Orange-bellied Parrot.
WoK SURVEY WEEKEND:
The Wings on King program is gathering data to monito the on-going sustainability of the King Island environment and 2021 is the 5th year of data collection. Over 60 survey sites located across the island with many on private land – spots not usually available to visitors – are surveyed by small teams, all led by at least one experienced birder.
ORANGE-BELLIED PARROT BLITZ:
2021 is expected to be the largest migration of these critically endangered, beautiful little birds for many years with as many as 200 birds migrating across Bass Strait. The Blitzis a serious search for the OBP to learn more about their movements and the habitats they are using during their stop-over on King Island.

Note: Arrivals on Sharp Hobart-King Island morning flight on Friday 23rd, orientation will take place at the airport.
