Wetheron Landcare Group

The Wetheron Landcare Group is a farm based group who have a strong emphasis on sustainable farming practices and improving the environmental values across the property's 2,500 hectares. Currently the property has in excess of 300ha under conservation covenant, extensive areas fenced off to manage and preserve sensitive landscapes (eg north facing slopes), and is undergoing the staged development of a network of interconnecting biodiversity corridors. Also, as 'die-back' of the property's eucalypt trees continues, a new initiative of planting 'paddock trees' from seed collected and propagated on farm saw the establishment of over 150 trees during spring 2017. The group looks to make this an annual program to uphold the population of healthy paddock trees which are crucial to many of the property's business and environmental values.
