Giant Freshwater Crayfish Recovery
Claire Jinnette - Cradle Coast NRM
Cradle Coast NRM has just completed a four year protect to improve priority stream habitat for the highly valued and vulnerable Giant Freshwater Crayfish. Targeting and working with landholders in identified priority areas, conservation agreements have been established and riparian protection and rehabilitation works have been completed. The project has protected significant areas from further habitat loss and degradation and raised community awareness about this iconic species.
Claire joined the CCA in August 2022 as an NRM Project Coordinator, with a focus on protecting and enhancing our valuable salt marsh habitat in the Northwest, and roadkill mitigation.
Claire is a marine biologist and environmental scientist and is well versed in environmental education and interpretation, community engagement, behaviour change campaigns and ocean plastic clean-up.
