The Potency of Partnership - Tamar NRM 25 Years and Beyond

Kirsten Seaver, Program Coordinator Tarmar NRM Inc

Tamar NRM was formed in 1998 with the financial support of the three Tamar Valley Councils and aligns with the priorities and goals of communities and Councils.

Founded on collaborative partnerships, Tamar NRM delivers community-based activities and projects focused on biodiversity, weeds, sustainable agriculture, sustainable living, and environmental education in the Tamar Valley region of northern Tasmania.

Join us for a 25-year perspective through the Tamar NRM story… and beyond.

Kirstin’s role as Program Coordinator with Tamar NRM began as a volunteer in 2022 and quickly evolved into the best job in the region. Arriving from NE Victoria in 2021, her background in tourism, community building, councils, recruitment, communication, horticulture, and farm management has contributed to current projects, whilst exploring new relationships with potential partners.

From feral to farm animals, birds to bugs, sea to summit, sustainability to soil ecology, farm to fork and trees… lots of trees, every part of Tamar NRM’s portfolio is a favourite for Kirstin. Of most importance are the people and volunteers who care for this place, so Kirstin is constantly recruiting for the next generation, engaging four new Project Officers and an intern this year.

In her spare time, Kirstin can be found hiking Tasmania’s wilderness, sailing her timber dinghy, farming her community garden plots and volunteering anywhere in the environment.
