Building Momentum - Turning Knowledge into Action

The theme for the photo competition this year is ‘Building Momentum - Turning Knowledge into Action’ - with a number of categories to showcase the ways in which the knowledge of our Landcarers helps turn our most important intentions into action.

Our aim of the competition is to engage photographers and their communities, highlight amazing places and things in our home state, and draw attention to the rapidly growing community of people stepping up and taking positive action for our environment.

Landcare Tasmania’s 5 strategic intents inform our inspiring program at the upcoming Tasmanian Community Landcare Conference at Spring Bay Mill and we have chosen them for this year’s photo competition categories.  Have fun with it! Get creative, abstract, interpretative or literal.  We can't wait to see what you come up with.

Categories

Healthy Landscapes

Do you know a place that shows off what it means to be healthy? Or a landscape that is being tended to carefully by stewards of the land? Maybe a special species that can only survive in a flourishing ecosystem…

Empowered Communities

Can you show us what it means for the community to be empowered to care for the land? What happens when we do things from the bottom up?

Supportive Network

Our mission is to connect diverse people and share our strengths for a common goal. What does it mean to support each other in order to support Earth?  Does the natural world have supportive networks, too?

Collective Voice

We want to build momentum and strength in the Landcare movement through a united voice.  What does a collective voice look like to you?

Strong Foundations

Any system needs strong foundations.  Maybe it looks like the strong roots of an old-growth tree, rich soil that nourishes life, or a strong group of leaders…
