This is a hands-on workshop demonstrating how to collect native seeds. Learn the basics of seed collecting from the wild or your garden, including the tools that are needed to harvest, sort and store your seeds. Fold your own origami seed packet and take home some seeds to grow.

Ruth Mollison, The Understorey Network

Ruth grew up on the foothills of kunanyi. After obtaining a Masters in Degree in Applied Science, Ruth was employed in science-based jobs ranging from a laboratory technician to a Waterwatch coordinator. Her love of seed collecting began while coordinating the Understorey Network, a community-based nursery and seedbank that focuses on preserving and restoring native habitat. She believes there is nothing better than wandering around the bush observing the small things. Ruth has spent a lifetime honing her knowledge and skills of collecting, storing, and propagating native Tasmanian seeds. Read more about The Understorey Network here
