Tool Tips for Restoration Workshop

How to get the most from your tools and give them the best chance of a long and useful life

This workshop will cover choosing the right tools for the job, treating them gently while on the job, transport and storage, regular maintenance and basic sharpening (time permitting!).

The focus will be mainly on the common hand tools used for woody weed control or in the home garden - i.e. secateurs and loppers. 

Vicki is a serial weeder with a love of fine tools, and has always enjoyed taking things apart. She has worked in weed management in both voluntary and professional roles,
on mainland Tasmania and its offshore islands. Vicki is also a keen home and community gardener, with a particular interest in edibles!  Vicki is a longtime Landcare legend who has dedicated many years to the Landcare cause. In 2021, she was awarded Honorary Life Member for her outstanding commitments to Landcare in Tasmania.
