Grants for Members and Non-Members
Is your community group or school a Landcare Tasmania Member Group? Are you an Individual Member?
Look for the labels Members and Non-Members to find out below which funding is available to you
Members Only- We support our individual and group members with resources to help them achieve their goals for improving the health of our natural and working landscapes. Support comes in many forms: funding, volunteers, professional advice, plants, and reduced-cost materials. Approved Members can log in to the Members Toolbox with their Landcare Tas registered email to find the big yellow 'Submit a Project Proposal' button. Click on the map to see projects already submitted.

Member projects will be put forward for all our grant opportunities (see below). You won't need to specify which grant you'd like to apply for. We'll assess submissions against the guidelines for each grant to decide which is the most suitable. Those shortlisted will be invited to provide further details.

Since 2004, over $600,000 of donations to the fund have been used to support our members' important on-ground work on farms, in schools and with community groups across lutriwita/Tasmania. We typically run one grant round per year, but accept project proposals to our Project Bank at any time. When the next round opens, we will shortlist projects from Landcare members who have submitted to the Project Bank, and invite those shortlisted to complete a full TLF application. Typical grant rounds include:
1. Medium Grant Round for projects that establish, rehabilitate and look after Tasmania’s water, soil, plants and animals.
2. Small Grant Round to suplement ongoing restoration works with plants, guards & stakes. E.g. The TLF Plant Grant.
The Tasmanian Landcare Fund (TLF) supports all of our programs, including much needed grants directly to member-driven projects. Landcare Tasmania Inc. is a charity registered with the ACNC and listed on the Register of Environmental Organisations. The Tasmanian Landcare Fund (TLF) is our public fund, which can receive tax deductible donations.

The Tasmanian Government supports on-ground Landcare projects through their Landcare Action Grants program. The Tasmanian Government also supports our Landcare Assistance Program, which covers some of the insurance and administration costs of running a Landcare group.
The Tasmanian Government allocated $1.8m in funding for the establishment of the Landcare Action Grants Program in 2019, and in 2022 a further $900k over 4 years was announced. The Program has been established to provide State funded grant opportunities to co-invest with farmers, landowners, and other community organisations on practical on-ground works for revegetation, sustainable agriculture, carbon farming and Rivercare type activities. Landcare Tasmania is delivering part of the Landcare Action Grants Program on behalf of, and in partnership with, the Department of Natural Resources (NRE)
Landcare Tasmania runs two components of the Landcare Action Grants:

Since 2019, Landcare Tasmania has been delivering landscape-scale projects supported by the Landcare Action Grants program. These projects bring together members and partners across a landscape to pool resources, tackle common issues, and maximise impact. Visit our Featured Projects page to learn more.
Members & Non-Members
The Tasmanian Government launched the Landcare Action Grants in 2018, with the support of the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) and Landcare Tasmania. The Program has been established to provide State funded grant opportunities to co-invest with farmers, landowners, and other community organisations on practical on-ground works for revegetation, sustainable agriculture, carbon farming and river restoration activities
As part of this program, Landcare Tasmania will deliver an open round of grants (Round 5) for projects across Tasmania behalf of, and in partnership with, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas).
Funds of up to $463,500 have been allocated for Round 5 of the open round grants. A further application round may be opened in late 2023 subject to funding availability.

Member Groups Only
Landcare Tasmania delivers the Landcare Assistance Program to cover the cost of member group insurance. The funds are generously provided by the Tasmanian Government. Note that the Landcare Assistance Program used to include a cash grant to support group operational costs. This is no longer available.
Member groups apply for Insurance funded by the LAP each year on their membership renewal form.
The JM Roberts Charitable Trust has been donating to the Tasmanian Landcare Fund since 2004, and continues to be our largest regular donor. The trustees have supported many of our programs, including open grant rounds to members, landscape restoration, education and outreach.
The Elsie Cameron Foundation began donating to the Tasmanian Landcare Fund in 2022. The foundation supports Landcare Tasmania in many ways, including support for our core operations, education and outreach programs.
