Landcare Tas at Fractangular

11 Feb 2020

We had an awesome time at the Fractangular Gathering 2020 last weekend, sharing what Landcare Tas and it's members do around this island state.

Thanks so much to everyone that came to our sessions at the event and signed up and came for a chat about their local Landcare issues!

Our Community Landcare Manager Peter Stronach gave two comprehensive talks about citizen science, how you can get involved, how to form a Landcare Tas group, the impact of secondary kill rodent poison on hawks, owls and scavenger animals like quolls and tassie devils, and different fun gadgets you can use out in the wild and your own back yard to see what wildlife is around us and how to lodge the data on the Natural Values Atlas.

Thanks to the organisers Alison and Sean for inviting us along and the property owner Richard for letting as all get bush for 3 days!

This beautiful little family friendly festival (which sold out!) encouraged everyone to bring their own cup and plate to use at the food vendors and had a huge focus on being sustainable whilst also being fun and engaging. With so many workshops, circus art, kids activities music and dance we hope to see Fractangular again next year!
