Landcare Tasmania has delivered the Landcare Assistance Program (LAP) grants every year since 1998 to cover group insurance premiums and support group core costs with a cash grant, supported by funding from the Tasmanian Government. This financial year (2023-2024), the LAP Cash Grant is under review and we are unable to offer this component of the Landcare Assistance Program in 2024. The insurance component of the grant is still available here.
Those who received the 2023 LAP cash grant will still need to submit an acquittal form to tell us how the funds were spent. In 2023, the LAP cash grant amount was $120 per group.
The cash grant amount varied from year to year depending on the number of groups that applied, insurance costs, and the funds available. Once insurance premiums are paid, the remaining LAP funds were distributed as the LAP cash grant. While the LAP cash grant is unavailable this year, we are advocating to continue the grants in a potentially new format in future.

How do I submit an application?
The LAP cash grant is under review. Applications are now closed. Previously they were available as part of both the new membership and renewing membeship forms.

Do I need to be a member group of Landcare Tasmania to receive a LAP grant?
Yes. This opportunity is for Member Groups with Landcare Tasmania only.
Will I need to acquit LAP funds?
Yes, you will need to acquit each year before your application for another grant is approved. This is a simple form included in the membership renewal forms, where it's only necessary to select the category of expenditure - no receipts are needed.
How and when do I acquit the LAP grant?
The acquittal form will be emailed to you, but it is also included in the Annual Membership Forms released every year in January, and found in the online Members Toolbox.
