Landcare Tasmania delivers the Landcare Assistance Program (LAP) grants every year to support member group core costs and to cover group insurance premiums. The funds are generously provided by the Tasmanian Government. The grant amount varies from year to year depending on number of groups that apply and insurance costs. Once insurance premiums are paid, the remaining LAP funds are distributed as the LAP Group Support Grant to those who apply for it. In 2020, the LAP Group Support grant amount was $150.
How do I apply?
LAP application forms and Insurance application forms are included as part of Membership Renewal each year (January), or on the New Group Application form for new members. For renewing members, LAP grant applications close on the 1st of March each year. For new members joining mid-year, LAP grant applications close on the 1st of October each year. New group applications after this date are eligible for the next year's LAP grant.
Here are some examples of what groups use their LAP Group Support grant funds for each year:
- Incorporation fees
- Audit fees
- Project materials (stakes, tree guards, plants)
- Phone use
- Safety gear (high vis vests, boots)
