Volunteers

"Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain."

Are you working with a group of passionate people and would like some resources on how to work together more efficiently, or what your legal obligations are while working together on a project?

How to work safely when you volunteer, either by yourself, in a group or for an event.

Working with insurance. Member Groups of Landcare Tasmania can be included in the Landcare Bulk Insurance policy by signing up every year during the membership renewal process, this will cover everyone while they are participating in your Landcare group activities. Some activities are excluded, so it's good to check with us before organising working bees.

Volunteering Tasmania is the peak body that represents volunteers in Tasmania. They have a huge range of guides, FAQ and resources to help us get the most out of our volunteering work, which you can read here.

Through Volunteering Tasmania we offer Landcare Tasmania group convenors free state wide training and development opportunities to help you and your group be the best and most effective group you can be. Check the Volunteering Tasmania website for their current list of events and training.
