National Tree Day Planting with KCC a huge success

National Tree day in Kingborough was a huge success!

200+ people came on Sunday to expand the habitat of one of the world's rarest birds - the Forty-spotted Pardalote.

Planting here will expand the existing colony and give future habitat to this wonderful tiny bird. In-stream planting and river shrubs will help the water quality of the stream as it flows into Coffee Creek and out to North West Bay.

Volunteers also enjoyed some guided walks, bird watching and rubbish cleanup. As well as some Landcare 25th Birthday cake!

Thanks to the event organisers BJ at Kingborough Council and the Landcare Tasmania team who helped make it happen on the day.

Enjoy the photos, and an article from the Kingborough Chronicle
