Pardoe Conservation Landcare Group
We are a Landcare group made up of volunteers working with the co-operation of Devonport Council NRM to repair, maintain, and protect this beautiful coastal heath and long, wonderful stretch of beach.
The John Palmer track is a unique community project that was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Devonport S.E. and built by Local Youth. It is within the Pardoe Point Conservation Area and we plan on supporting any local groups, clubs, schools, and organisations who want to provide TLC for this track and the conservation area it is within.
Damage caused by unauthorised vehicles are one of our biggest concerns, from illegal dumping to driving over and killing native vegetation, they are one of the most destructive issues currently present in the Conservation area and put our native animals who nest and burrow in this area in danger. We want to plan and implement strategies to repair the willful damage and build strategies to minimise the ability for this to happen in the future.
This information is provided for people to contact member groups about their community Landcare activities. Anyone wishing to distribute information generally to groups should contact Landcare Tasmania with their request.
