All are welcome to join Seymour Community Action Group Inc. and UTAS Landcare Society for a camp overnight on Wuggatena Poenta overlooking Black Dog Reef on the northern end of Long Point Seymour.
This working bee weekend will start at 10 am Saturday the 22nd of April, in the Conservation area just north of Champ St before the Swamp.
We will kick off with a talk from Todd Dudley about restoration. Todd is a multi award winner for his outstanding work on restoration and has been our advisor throughout this project.
We have 100 seedlings grown from locally acquired seeds to plant along the southern border of the Conservation area where it adjoins Champ Street.
After morning tea/lunch there are all the other trees planted over the preceding years to weed, renew guards and cut out gorse. We will then set up camp on the Point and join together for a meal.
On Sunday we will continue with the trees and gorse for all who are keen to do more.
Get in touch to come along.
