On Sunday 13th April Landcare Tasmania hosted 60 Northwest locals at the Tasmanian Arboretum in Eugenana for a day of bug hunting, joined by expert scientists Clare Hawkins and Lynne Foster.

Landcare Tasmania, in collaboration with one of Landcare’s showcase farms on the Baxter Property at Pipers River, gathered Queechy High School students from year 7, 9, and 10 for a hands-on farm excursion in Tasmania’s north. This event offered a unique opportunity for students to explore soil health and biodiversity in a real-world agricultural setting.

On Sunday 25th February families joined Landcare Tasmania and Kingston Beach Coastcare to become ‘Environmental Superheros” in a day of interactive environmental storytelling, a puppet show, and a beach clean-up.

Understanding the importance of this bond, our "Know Your Local Patch" program was recently launched with the aim of fostering a love for the environment among children. Let's take a look back at some of the exciting workshops held as part of this program and discover how they successfully brought children closer to the wonders of the natural world.
