Over the past 4 years, Landcare Tasmania has delivered four landscape-scale projects through the Tasmanian Government's Landcare Action Grants (LAG). Having recently wrapped up 4 rounds, these grants delivered a total of $335,000 in funding to 50 grant recipients working on 63 project sites across Tasmania. 

The Coal River Valley Project aims to increase both biodiversity and production on a number of planting sites within the Coal River Valley Landscape.

On Wednesday 2nd March, students from Richmond Primary School got the opportunity to sift through some poo and discover the important role that dung beetles play for soil health and sustainable agriculture.

Sold out and successful! Workshop go-ers meandered through a beautiful native garden and learnt how to collect, store and propagate native seeds. 

Landcare Tasmania recently surveyed 4 farms in and around the Coal Valley to see how dung beetles are going in the area. 

As part of our program to upskill Landcarers, we held a brilliant workshop with Waterbug expert, John Gooderham on the weekend. 

We had a huge response and some positive, informative discussions at our two Feral Cat Info Sessions last month. Community members got to hear from a range of experts on cats and how we can manage their impacts in Tasmania.
