All Landcare Tas Member Groups and Individual Members in the Meander Valley and surrounding areas are invited to our next Members Outreach BBQ (MOB). Please RSVP by Thurs 25th October.
Our regional MOBs have been connecting Landcarers in their areas for two years now, giving Members a unique opportunity to swap stories with other Landcarers.
Topics - Native Shelterbelts and Feral Cat Trapping
Who: All members of Landcare Tasmania and their families are invited (so please pass it on to others in your group).
When: Saturday, 27th of October, 10am - 2:30pm.
Where: Meet at the Meander Memorial Hall @ 10am to carpool to first site just down the road.
10:10 AM “Janefield” - Native Shelterbelts - the Pro's and Con's.
Visit Brian and Michele Lawrence's property "Janefield" to discuss native shelterbelts. We will be joined by several landholders and specialists in native shelterbelt design to discuss best practice and necessary follow up.
12:30 PM After the walk we'll head on back to the Meander Memorial Hall for a social BBQ lunch catered by Landcare Tasmania with support from Meander Valley Council.
1:15 PM The Meander Valley Feral Cat Trapping Program Update (funded by the Australian Government’s Threatened Species Unit)
This catchment wide program has been using a number of techniques to trap feral cats in Meander Valley. Project coordinator Kevin Knowles will provide insights into methods being used to trap feral cats and reduce impacts on stock and wildlife.
Our past Member Outreach BBQs have had a great turnout, so this one is sure to be popular too.
