The plan is to return to one of our favourite sites to continue with Spanish heath control following up on previous year’s good work .

Last year we followed up on some outlying populations but decided to leave the main original infestation that is closer to the vehicle track on the ridge. This will form the focus of our attention. The dampened ground should allow for most plants to be hand pulled.

If we have time we will spread out and do a search on the southern side of the ridge. There is a previously treated patch out there that hasn’t been relocated for quite some years.

Any new site may will have larger plants that will need to be cut and dabbed with herbicide. Those of you who have joined us in previous trips will know what to expect. Uneven terrain, off track searching.

Get there early and grab yourself a coffee and biscuit from the Lanterns across the road.

Afterwards there will be opportunity for some afternoon tea / glass of wine at the inimitable Bangor Vineyard Shed.

What to bring: Warm clothes, all weather gear, a drink and lunch
