24 Carrot Working Bee Group

As part of a suite of community initiatives, Mona hosts the 24 Carrot Garden program - a kitchen garden program co-founded by Curator and Artist, Kirsha Kaechele and Brighton Primary Principal Angela Miezitis.

‘24 Carrot’ builds vibrant kitchen gardens for growing, harvesting preparing and sharing fun pleasurable food education. We value, inquiry-based learning where primary school students are given the opportunity to learn through 'real life' hands on experiences in the kitchen and garden. We aim to inspire students in soil health, native plants and rehabilitation, sustainability, creative arts, culinary arts, science, seasonality, permaculture, and health and wellbeing. (Just to name a few).

Currently there are over 10,00 students participating in fifteen 24 Carrot Garden schools in Southern Tasmania.
