Hillwood Progress Association Incorporated

Hillwood is a small semi-rural hamlet comprising pf approximately 400 residents on the eastern banks of the Tamar River in the central north of Tasmania.

The Hillwood Progress Association Incorporated, through its constitutional objectives and subsequent practices, proactively aims to undertake activities for the general betterment and improvement of the Hillwood Community, to promote a feeling of goodwill and cohesion, to work together to raise funds to provide better facilities for the Hillwood community and visitors to the area and to work with the George Town Council and any other agencies, in order to achieve these aims.

The Hillwood Progress Association Incorporated has an annual plan of fund raising and environmental activities throughout the year including Clean Up Australia Day, Boneseed Blitz Eradication and Catch it in the Catchment in conjunction with Tamar NRM. Through an affiliation with a local Facebook page “Hillwood Area Happenings”, we advertise these local events and although our current membership number is small, with a revitalised focus from our Management Committee, we are aiming to increase our membership and our public profile. Other Hillwood Groups, including the Garden Club, Ladies Group and Kids Club are closely associated with the Hillwood Progress Association Incorporated.
