Russ Trust

We have just purchased a 110 acre conservation covenant that includes 25 acres of plantation that requires removal and regeneration. This will happen gradually over a few decades, as stipulated in the covenant.

We do not yet know how much natural regeneration will occur - we would like to learn how to collect seeds and propogate from existing plants in the adjacent covenant area and will purchase plants that are difficult to propogate or do not yet exist in our area (even the covenant is an ex farm and not mature). We would like help with seed harvesting and planting the propogated plants.

We will need to learn how to harvest the plantation trees and would love assistance with this if possible (we will buy a chainsaw, do a safety course etc but have no experience in this area).

When deliberately replanting, we would like advice on what to grow where, as we don't know what naturally occurred before the plantation.
