July 04, 2026 at 11:00am - 3pm

It's planting season!

Come and lend a hand and help the Cloudy Bay Restoration Group revegetate old pine plantation behind Cloudy Bay on Bruny Island into native forest, with a particular focus on enhancing foraging habitat for the critically endangered swift parrot.

Landcare Tasmania, in partnership with NRM South, is currently supporting the Cloudy Bay Restoration Landcare Group in a pilot project to rehabilitate and regenerate approximately 1 hectare of old pine plantation back to native vegetation.

This restoration will predominantly feature Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus ovata, along with a locally referenced understorey.

There's 750 plants ready to go in the ground, with much of the ground prep already done with thanks to the Cloudy Bay Restoration Group and the Bruny Island Environment Network.
