melythina tiakana warrana Aboriginal Corporation MTWAC

MTWAC is a Not for-Profit Aboriginal Community Organisation with approx 289 members. Our operations are based on our traditional lands at Tebrakunna (Cape Portland). We are developing our land and sea country management capabilities through engaging a voluntary trainee ranger program. We have just recently gained funding to directly employ 2 full time rangers to work on country. Our aims are to provide Aboriginal land management in and around the northeast of Tasmania with further aims of developing an Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) along the NE Coast line. We have regular on country working bees in the lead up to our annual community event Mannalargenna Day held on the first Saturday in December. Our land conservation and management activities will involve both Tebrakunna Rangers as well as community volunteers.
