The Bruny Island Quarantine Station is a peninsula of 128 hectares. An historic settlement immediately surrounded by grassland and then easily accessible bushland. Flat and gently sloping terrain. Target weeds are mostly thistles, gorse, ragwort and forget-me-not. Mapping of weeds is carried out on the Fulcrum ap on iPads whilst in the field. Most of our weeding is cut and pasting with glyphosate. Assistance with spraying certain sites is carried out by Parks. Funding for the weeding program is kindly supported by the Pennicott Foundation. We also carry out marine debris cleanups from the Quarantine Station coastline.
