Achievement Plans
Implement priority strategic actions from the Minnow Catchment Action Plan (2016) and associated Minnow Catchment Weed Management Plan (2017) to bring about continuing improvement to the condition of natural values and their management.
Methods
Using existing plans and implementation processes. The Group has well developed relationships and processes in place for working with the major land managers in the Catchment, including Kentish Council, Forico, PWS, Tas Networks and Sustainable Timbers Tasmania. Also policies and best practice procedures to guide engagement of contractors, and current experience with induction processes with each of the relevant land managers. The Group has been actively implementing key elements of the Minnow Plans since 2017 with great success, and seeks to continue those works.
Natural Values
The Minnow Catchment, which includes the summit plateau of Mount Roland, and Tasmania's highest waterfall aggregation, has iconic status within Tasmania and Australia, and some of its very significant natural values have been documented in recent Biodiversity surveys conducted by the Group, and the information from these has been uploaded to the NVA.
