Achievement Plans

Maintain and increase the rate of practice change towards better soil stewardship. We hope to continue to deliver events and outputs that build on our farmer-farmer learning model, supporting land managers in trying new techniques and tools that have been shown to drastically improve the sustainability of farming systems, such as cover crops, reduced tillage, controlled traffic, regenerative grazing and multi-species cropping.

Methods

One of our members - currently the volunteer secretary - is a consultant and can deliver the required activities inside their current role. This means the group will not be required to undergo the torturous administration requirements of employing someone or using a subcontractor. The proposed co-ordinator has an office, insurance, admin support and other resources that will allow them to deliver value to the group.

Natural Values

Soil health and biodiversity in agricultural landscapes. Water and nutrient use efficiency improvements means less harmful impacts on the environment throughout the agricultural value chain. Better soil health means less chemical inputs such as insecticides and fungicides, protecting our waterways and broader environment.
