A windbreak that will act as habitat for local species that struggle in intensive farm land. The BCCMG has a hedge on 2 sides to protect from Southerly and Westerly winds however we have found the Northerly destructive of crops. We have an wide grass swale and think with a good variety of saplings and a little elbow grease we could protect the garden, provide habitat and hopefully preventing swan deaths on the parallel power line where swans nesting on our dam are killed annually despite line mitigation with Tasnetworks. The windbreak would close that path and redirect flight.
