Re route sections of the Penguin Cradle Trail (PCT) to by-pass private property and flood damaged section in the Leven Canyon area.
Methods
We are currently in the process of seeking approval for one project from Crown Lands. The route has been walked and is viable. After Crown Land department approval we will be discussing the project with our local Parks office with the aim of progressing towards starting the upgrade.
Natural Values
This is a walking track so the values are continuing to provide a means for bush walkers to enjoy the natural beauty and features of the diverse country from Penguin to Cradle Mountain. The track crosses open forest and bush land, farming plains, Leven River Canyon, alpine grasslands and open button grass plains with all the diversity of scenery, plant and animal life along the way.
