Achievement Plans

Improve the Penguin Creek (440m stretch) and Fiddler's Creek (900m stretch), which adjoin to our farming land. The project will include weed removal along the waterways, including approx. 60 willow trees; fencing to exclude stock and prevent further stock caused erosion; and the reestablishment of native vegetation along the waterways. This project also seeks to protect the habitat of protected species, including local platypus and giant freshwater lobster populations.

Methods

1. Clear the creek lines of weeds, including the removal of willows. Weeding removal will be done by the farm team, with a contribution grant funding to fund an excavator to remove the approx. 60 willow trees from the creeks. 2. Fence the creek lines to ensure future stock exclusion. This will be done with co-contribution from the grant to fund fencing material and time. 3. Revegetate the fenced creek area, utilising volunteers and contribution of grant funding to fund the native plants.
