A small native plant nursery will be established at Collinsvale Primary School under the guidance of local botanist and STEM-Professionals-in-Schools partner Dr Tanya Scharaschkin. Collinsvale Primary School students will be involved in cleaning, sorting, labelling and sowing the seeds and caring for the seedlings. Students will monitor germination success rates under different dormancy treatments and, in the process, learn about the scientific method including experiment design and record keeping. Seedlings will be sold by Collinsvale Primary School students at the Collinsvale Market.
