Achievement Plans
We have wet springs on the sides of steep banks, we have fenced the cattle out of them. Now we want to restore native species to these riparian zones to stop erosion, improve asthetics, give a habitate to our native animal and bird species, contribute to carbon sequestration and give cattle protection from wind and bad weather.
Methods
I have already spoken to an expert in restoring riparian zones, he came and had a look and provide me with a list of species that are suitable for our landscape and climate. Now I need advice on numbers of species and suitable nursery's to provide these species. When I have the trees, plants, stakes and protectors I need some professional to come and show myself and my farm employees how to plant and care for the plants and trees. Also may need some follow up consultantion and advice on maintaining and caring for the sites.
Natural Values
We are restoring springs that exit out of steep hill sides, the cattle have eroded them over 50 years. We want to restore them into beautiful diverse native plant and animal species with clear running spring water.
