Continue to encourage landowners in the Tasman catchment to plant native vegetation for shelter belts, restoration of riparian or coastal areas, wildlife corridors and erosion control. This helps Tasman Landcare to continue to promote sustainable practices to farmers and allow coastcare groups to enhance degraded areas.
Methods
Tasman landcare advertises availability of revegtation materials through it's website, facebook page and other sources. Applications are assessed on criteria of providing shelter belt, restoring riparian or coastal areas erosion control etc. Where required volunteer labour will be provided through coastcare or other volunteer groups.
Natural Values
Native vegetation communities (including threatened), native fauna habitat (including threatened), water quality fro riparian/coastal sites, soil health.
