We want water along our creeks and in our dams that is good enough to drink through the exclusion of livestock. Also to provide habitat for local birds and other fauna and to combat salinity that has been creeping into our landscape.
Methods
We have a tractor and post driver and all the tools necessary for fencing. Neville and Rosemary will do all of the post driving. Friends/family members will help with the fencing. Spraying of Glyphosate will be done by Rosemary and Neville. Tree planting will be done by family, friends and any other volunteers you can provide.
Natural Values
We are restoring the waterways and providing native flora so that frogs, birds and other fauna have a healthier habitat. By fencing off the dam then the birds nesting areas will not be impacted upon by livestock. The level of bacteria from cow and sheep manure will not be present in the dam which will lead to a reduction in levels of algae.
