Northern Suburbs Community Landcare
The northern suburbs are a great place to live!! Let's show those south of the flannelette curtain just how beautiful it can be!
This group focuses on improving and protecting reserves in the Glenorchy municipality to benefit the local community, wildlife & ecology, as well as learning new skills, meeting new people and just generally being a good human!
Working bees involve:
- Invasive weed removal such as boneseed, blackberry and periwinkle
- Rubbish clean up (that's enough tyres and VB bottles in our rivulets!)
- Planting native plants to improve biodiversity.
- Planting edible plants and supporting community garden projects (because we all need more affordable fruit & veg in our lives)
- Creating public walking tracks and seating areas.
Working bees usually involve music, some refreshments and good vibes!
