Landcare Tasmania will be hosting an online Fundraising Art Auction in the month of May. We are seeking contributions of local artwork to support this important campaign.

Seeking Contributions
We are reaching out to artists to help support the Landcare movement with a contributions of art for auction in May.
There’s something special about our the auction too - thanks to the Elsie Cameron Foundation, every donation made in May will be matched. That means that the impact of your contribution will be doubled.
This may be a full donation of your artwork, or a partial contribution. We welcome offers of artwork at a minimum price that is practical for you and how you would like to give.
Why support?
Our membership is reaching a critical mass of people ready to step up and care for the land.
Between 2020 and 2022 our membership grew by 120 groups and individual Landcarers. That’s a 40% increase in just two years. But with no funding to match the support needed, we are struggling to keep up with the growing demand for community guidance and assistance to ensure people are able to make a difference.
For example, while we have been able to support 134 important Landcare projects since 2019, our Project Bank has over 100 projects that still need funding.
We want, and need, to do more.
Our membership is growing in response to increasing environmental challenges and a growing collective awareness that we can make a difference - and we urgently need to support this growth.
In the face of significant environmental pressures, including widespread biodiversity loss and climate change, we are at a crucial moment in time.
The Elsie Cameron Foundation has pledged to match every donation made up to $75,000.
That means we have an opportunity to raise $150,000 for grassroots Landcare in Tasmania before the end of this financial year.
Will you consider donating a piece of art to our fundraiser to help grassroots Landcarers protect and restore the soils, waterways, flora, fauna, climate and communities that make up our beautiful island?
Your support will make a positive change in supporting a movement that aims to care for the land and waterways of lutruwita / Tasmania now and for generations to come.
Let us know you are interested by contacting us on [email protected]. Then we will need the following (let us know if you need some help):
- A high-quality image of your artwork
- An explanation of the work - eg media (painting, photograph etc)
- Size of the piece
- A short artist statement explaining the artwork and anything you want to share about it
- A short artist bio
- Title of art
- Recommended starting price
The auction goes live on Friday 12th May, but we welcome donations until 20th May. The auction will close on Wednesday 31st May.
We want you to feel good about supporting Landcare with your art, so please let us know of any special conditions or requests that will make you feel really good about donating an art piece to our fundraiser. We understand you may wish to cover costs and would benefit from a share of the proceeds. Some examples may include:
- Artist thank you and promotion by Landcare Tas
- Requesting a share of the proceeds.
