Working Bee in Bridgewater

21st June 2022

A successful day of cleaning up our environment and enjoying the beautiful weather!

On Sunday 5th of June, we held a working bee with Bridgewater Foreshore Landcare Group along the Bridgewater Foreshore Track.

We took full advantage of the very welcome sunshine, enjoying the lovely views of the Derwent River. Together, we pulled out cotoneaster, hawthorn, boxthorn, and briar roses. It was extremely satisfying to see the huge pile we'd built over the course of a few hours.

We then indulged in an afternoon tea, while taking in the sights of our hard work and newly weeded track.

A big thank you to Brighton Councillor Phil Owen, Brighton Community Development Officer Brittany Szlezack, and Landcare Tasmania Board Chair Bill Harvey for their time, effort, and equipment. And thank you to everyone who came along and took part in this great effort in cleaning up our community!
