October 28, 2023 at 10:00am - 3pm

Landcare Tasmania is pleased to invite you to a free workshop to learn about Ecological Restoration.

Has your land been affected by:

  • Erosion
  • Salinity
  • Floods or Fire
  • Plantation
  • Land clearing/land use change

Ecological restoration is all about helping the land to recover from impacts like these! Restoration can improve biodiversity, ecosystem structure and function, water quality, and habitat, amongst others.

Restoration expert Todd Dudley will talk to us in detail about hands-on practices, drawing on the National standards for the practice of ecological restoration in Australia. The workshop will include a site visit to nearby Swan Basin, where we will look at active restoration sites, discuss techniques and learn the history of this unique area.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and talk with Todd. This workshop will give you practical knowledge and skills to undertake your own restoration projects. It will be beneficial for anyone who is wanting to restore or improve their local patch.

Lunch is provided by The Coffee Shack, tea and coffee will be available. Please email [email protected] or call 6234 7117 if you have any dietary requirements.

Please wear clothing and footwear suited to the outdoors.
