Join Landcare Tasmania, the Australian National University’s Sustainable Farms program, and King Island Landcare Network for a half-day field day designed for farmers, property owners and Landcare members interested in improving farm dams on King Island. Learn about the production, ecosystem, and drought resilience benefits from improved farm dam management.

 

When: Wednesday 20th of May 10am-1pm

Where: 1049 Grassy Rd, Pegerah

What to expect:

  • Scientists from the ANU will share the latest scientific research on the many benefits of enhancing farms dams.
  • The practical steps involved in enhancing a farm dam
  • Benefits for agricultural production - improved water quality, increased water security, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions
  • Benefits for biodiversity
  • Monitoring methods for farm dams
  • Learn about Landcare Tasmania's "Catchment Connect" Project and how to submit an EOI for farm dam enhacemement funding
