On Saturday 2 December Landcarers from all around the state gathered in Launceston for the Tasmanian Landcare Gathering. The forecast all week called for rain but nonetheless over 90 landcarers piled into buses in Launceston ready for a day of field trips and the awards lunch.
This year instead of a conference we hosted four fun and exciting field trips, followed by lunch and presentation of the Tasmanian Landcare Awards. All field trips started from a central location in Launceston. Each field trip will had a different theme and itinerary, visiting local Landcare sites and the people who care for them. There were walk and talks at several stops along the way, along with a social morning tea.
The day ended with a delicious lunch to celebrate the Tasmanian Landcare Awards at the renowned Josef Chromy vineyard in Relbia.
